BEHIND THE D.O.R.R. - SEPTEMBER 2019 ISSUE
So I don’t know about all of you, but we have started the count down to the DECADES OF ROCK & ROLL CRUISE. As of the date of this post we only have 157 days until we board the beautiful ‘Adventure Of The Seas’. It can’t come quick enough for us. We always look so forward to a Music Packed Week Of Rock & Roll Fun with all of you who have chosen to cruise with us.
Everything here has been very busy. On September 9, 2019 we collected the 2nd deposit for the cruise. As a courtesy to all our guests we automatically charged the card that was on file with us in order to take the worry out of possibly missing any due date deadlines.
We have mailed out physical mailings to those who are signed up to cruise with us in February 2020. You should be receiving that mail soon. I have included within that mailing a statement reflecting the recent payment. PLEASE NOTE that at the bottom of the statement most of you will see “PAST DUE”. Please disregard that. No accounts are past due. The way our program works will only allows for 30 day increments. So if you signed up early in the year it will state you are past due when actually you are not. So no Worries. Everyone is current and all is well.
The next payment will be due on November 4, 2019. And just like the September payment we will automatically charge your card we have on file unless you wish to use another form of payment which in that case please contact us BEFORE the due date so we have time to get it changed in our system.
Anyone thinking about staying at the hotel the night before the cruise (February 14, 2020) and has not signed up yet please give me a call to arrange that. We still have a few spots open. It’s a fun evening. We hold a pre-cruise party starting at 8:30pm. The bands entertain us, and the next morning we have private shuttles that will take us over to the cruise terminal. If you are driving the hotel will allow you to park your vehicle at the hotel for the week of the cruise. If you are flying into Ft Lauderdale we do have shuttle service that will take you to the hotel from the airport.
We hope everyone enjoys the upcoming Autumn Season wherever that may be. Please keep an eye on our FaceBook page for updates as to where we will be with upcoming shows. And if you haven’t noticed yet, we have a brand new updated website. Please go and check it out at www.DecadesOfRockAndRoll.com While there check out our song “Caribbean Way”. This is a song that I wrote the words to, and John Schwab & Molly Pauken are playing and singing it. They also created the music and arrangement for that song. It’s a great song so be sure and check it out. The story behind the song had to do with our brutal winter last year. Right before the cruise we had three weekends in a row that we were snowed in. That was the inspiration for the song. Hope you all enjoy it.
PERSONAL NEWS
On a personal note I have some exciting news. On August 19, 2019 I became grandma for the first time. I was actually on the road with Hotel California 'A Salute To The Eagles' when it all went down...ha, ha. We had several shows in Iowa, and had just arrived in Dubuque, IA for the first show on August 17. After the show went to the hotel, and very early on August 18 I was woken up by the phone with my daughter saying her water broke and she was heading to the hospital. Naturally, I had to be there for the birth of my first grandchild so I booked a return flight back to Ohio on August 18th, and at 9:00 a.m. on August 19 Alice Faye was born weighing in at 6 pounds 1 ounce and was 18 inches long. Her discharge weight was 5 pounds 8 ounces and as you can see she is just a tiny little peanut and we couldn't be more proud of her if we tried.
FEATURED VIDEO
We are starting a new feature to the newsletter. We thought we would feature a video each month taken on one of our cruises. And if everyone likes it we will continue to feature them. The first video I've chosen to feature is from our 2019 Decades Of Rock & Roll Cruise because it rained here this morning but now the sun is out and "I can see clearly now". Hope you enjoy this. Until next time....bye
